Old Website Relaunched!

11th July 2006
This is the relaunch of the main pages of my first website, which was originally online, with some breaks, from 2000 to 2003. I designed it while I was studying at Limerick University, but I wasn't doing a computer course. The content was more important than the design, and there was a deadline, so I made it using Microsoft FrontPage software, which was available on the student computers.

I was the first student in my department to incorporate a website into a study module, and there was opposition to the idea at first, but I ended up getting a good mark for it :-) I've deleted some defunct links, and added one new one, but otherwise these pages are the same as they were in 2000, apart from this home page, which is the 2003 version updated a little.

About this Site

I developed this site  in 2000 as part of a Master of Arts degree course in Ethnochoreology  ( the study of dance in different cultures ) at the Irish World Music Centre. It's part of the University of Limerick and is located in the mid-west of Ireland, on the estuary of the River Shannon.

It  deals with various kinds of dancing as I experience them, mainly in the mid-west of Ireland,  but maybe at times venturing further afield. It includes background information, photographs, events, links and some other interesting features.

The Mid West of Ireland

Places mentioned in these pages:

Miltown Malbay, is a small town close to the coast about midway between Ennistymon and Kilkee. Near the little island.

Shannon
town and international airport are on the small peninsula between Ennis and Limerick city.
