to my website! It was launched on 26th July 2006, which is the name day for Anna in Slovakia.
The webmaster
My name is Anne Wafer and ShanTRAnex is my sole trader's business name, registered in Ireland with the Companies Registration Office.I've been living in the west of Ireland for many years, and recently I've also been spending a lot of time in Slovakia in central Europe, but my native country is England.

The name
I created the name ShanTRAnex from three parts. "Shan" is from the River Shannon, the longest river in Ireland. "TRA" is from the highest mountains in Slovakia, the High Tatras, and "nex" is from nexus which means connection. I designed the logo to look nice and flowing, like a river, with the high mountains in the centre. You can see the real river and mountains in the pictures above.Purpose

This website is all my own work unless otherwise stated. I've been living like a hermit for weeks teaching myself xhtml and cascading stylesheets. Many thanks to all those people who have shared their knowledge of web design on the Internet.
It's meant to be a liquid layout so things will move about if you resize the window or the text. After a lot of work it seems to be OK in at least 3 browsers: IE 6, Firefox 1.5 and Opera 8.5, all on Windows at a resolution of 1024x768px.
It's not perfect and it's not complete but I think it's time to test it online.
